Hi, your MS IB450 Tomahawk is experiencing some unusual problems. You can't use multiple USB ports simultaneously, particularly when they're next to each other. For example, with two front USB ports you lose connection or the device becomes unusable when you connect something to the second port. The same issue occurs with contiguous ports on the rear I/O section. The audio jacks have stopped working as well. In sleep mode it occasionally powers up unexpectedly, like during the middle of the night. You’re forced to either turn it off completely or unplug it from the power source. None of these problems are new except for the audio jacks, which have always been this way since you purchased it last year. You couldn’t return it at the time because you needed a functional computer urgently. These issues aren’t a deal-breaker, and before deciding to replace it, I’d like to know if there’s anything you can try first.

The tomhawk features a robust 3-stage 6+2 phase power system. If it remains covered under warranty, you can return it for replacement without paying for a new unit.

It seems the power supply might be the issue. Some USB ports draw from its 5V standby output, which only handles 2-3A. If the PSU fails to deliver enough current at that voltage, connected devices could lose power. For audio jacks, it could relate to Realtek auto-detection. Make sure your AC outlet is properly grounded—lack of grounding can lead to similar problems.

I believed it might relate to the PSU, though I didn’t wish to jump to conclusions. It’s entirely feasible.

I'm installing a new power supply this month, but my existing unit seems to be functioning well—it's a solid Bequiet! Pure Power 10 400W. The audio jacks were working properly until they stopped suddenly. Are there any steps I can take to troubleshoot it? Also, I believe the outlets are in good condition.

It seems like you're weighing the pros and cons of purchasing something online. Buying from a trusted seller on eBay is a smart move, but spending extended time offline could be challenging. Consider balancing convenience with your needs.

Maybe I recommend sticking with what @mariushm mentioned. It might just be the PSU I was referring to—I didn’t say that since I didn’t want to overstate it. Pure power works, though it’s not the top choice.

I already have a USB hub but it still feels a bit frustrating. I’m not getting a DAC, which isn’t what I needed. I’m using a USB sound card that also serves as a jack for my phone, making it a practical solution. I’ll give it a shot and let you know what I think.

I’m receiving a PurePower model with an 11 instead of 10, and it’s delivering 600W rather than 400W.

Check if the problem remains unresolved and proceed accordingly.
