Required additional storage for gaming with demanding content such as heavily modified Minecraft, honestly
It's usually preferable to have two larger sticks, but since your setup is different, adding another stick similar to what you just purchased should at least support full dual-channel operation. Of course, if you're not seeing any slowdown, you can safely overlook it. Typically, using more than two-thirds of the available RAM will lead to greater frame rate fluctuations.
Consider returning the third stick and purchasing a 2x kit to ensure everything comes from the same batch.
Ideally yes, but there's always a chance if you buy from the same store it will be the same batch anyway. The main point of kits is they are tested at the factory to all be fully compatible working together, but given the original two are different to begin with that wont necessarily guarantee no issues. Do bear in mind though, these configurations wont necessarily cause any problems at all, just having all the RAM from the same kit means its actually been pre-tested to work together without problems which is helpful if you DO run into issues.
RAM is expected to arrive today, so I’ll contact the store to arrange a return and opt for the new 2x kit.
Speed? Also the new ram? Higher speeds with 4 sticks have increased chance not to work at those higher speeds. At the end of the day, if that 3rd stick means you're not running out of ram now, but were with 2, you can stop there. Only if you want to optimise for ram performance you can consider options. If you can return the 3rd stick without penalty, then I'd do so and buy a dual kit to replace it with. If there is a penalty to returning, I'd buy another stick of the same.
Called the store and they told me another stick is available like the third one. Should I try returning the one arriving today and get the dual kit instead? I didn’t answer the first question, but I think the seller said we could have everything for 3200 with the four modules.
