Jesus... It's not like Nebraska. With so few folks—almost two million, most outside half the state—I think I should head to Kansas City (about six hours by car).

Obtain a Google Cardboard, apply black spray paint, and label it with white marker in VIVE.

Also note, there are two million people there!? What the hell when I drove through Nebraska, all I saw were farms growing really bad dirt?! No wonder there isn’t a microcenter nearby.

It mainly comes down to how much $800 matters to you at the moment. If it means skipping ramen or covering your bills, I’d say no. But if you can afford it without stress, it’s definitely worth the effort. I’ve saved for a few months and recently got a Vive about two months back. I really enjoy it. Most AAA titles aren’t great on a regular screen, but Vive games offer something special that normal monitors can’t match—things like SoundBoxing, Onward, Rec Room, Accounting, and Zombie Training Simulator deliver experiences you won’t find elsewhere. The immersion is strong; I’ve felt chills and even cried more than once, though I rarely cry unless it’s something emotional. Allumette and Pearl both moved me deeply for different reasons. As a creator, you have the tools to explore more—Tilt Brush, Sound Stage, Oculus Medium all make great use of this gear. Those alone justify the cost for many. There are downsides, like discomfort and lower graphics quality, but they’re minor compared to the unique value. Overall, it’s a standout experience, so I went with yes.
