I was testing my new GPU but unexpectedly my computer shut down and a sparking noise was heard along with the AVR failing. Switching to another AVR caused the issue again. My hardware checks show everything is working properly. What should I do?

Share your hardware details. If your computer shuts down after adding a new GPU, it’s likely the power supply isn’t strong enough.

The power supply's wattage is crucial here. As I noted earlier, it could be insufficient for your equipment.

The warning about a hazardous zone is likely the reason... It appears unappealing and mysterious.

Could this result in it bursting and emitting sparks? I notice a burnt smell from the hardware, though all components from the motherboard to the CPU appear intact—no scorch marks or damaged capacitors on the motherboard.

With updated details, we understand it’s likely a 700-watt power supply. Are you referring to a UPS, line conditioner, or an onboard voltage regulator? Or are you asking about the voltage regulator inside the power supply itself?
