It varies. On EBay you're essentially taking a chance. It could work out well and offer a solid deal, or it might have issues or defects and you could lose money. Still, EBay provides decent buyer protection, so problems are usually covered. But be prepared to spend a lot of time if things don't go as planned.

I agree with eeeee1. Are the images of the real CPU or just stock shots of a Ryzen case? The details mention it. The positive part is if the listing states it's in good condition and the photos are clear, eBay offers solid buyer protection. I've bought and sold components on eBay before and had mostly positive experiences.
