I believe purchasing from Steam is a smarter choice since I heard Ubi or someone took FC4 copies from an untrustworthy site. Probably G2A. Not entirely sure.
Usually you read what you're purchasing. Check if they are steam keys, global or Russian versions.
Games need to be secure. I don't suggest purchasing product keys for Windows or similar software. I bought Win 8.1 just because it was cheap, but later discovered it was a pirated key from Microsoft. Their customer service for refunds is extremely slow. I'm just giving it a try now... (By the way, I haven't received my refund yet and it's taken a while.)
I purchase every game from g2a, it's similar to eBay—just pick the seller with the best reviews and most sales, and you're safe. Adding a few pence for the g2a shield gives you a money-back guarantee.
Despite that, the issue of receiving a pirated key still gives me a 50/50 chance. You had luck getting a legal version, while I faced an illegal one. I wouldn't take that risk again. Also, the seller had a strong 16k positive reviews, which seems misleading.
