Hey everyone, I'm looking to swap out my A320 board for a new one due to random crashes and a black screen. The technician mentioned a MOSFET issue. I'm considering ASUS Prime B450M-A, B450M-A II, and TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING. Which one fits best? What offers the strongest VRM and heatsinks for my office and light gaming needs?

I question the possibility of a mosfet issue. Such a failure would halt the entire system, bringing your PC to a complete halt. The VRM feeding the integrated graphics might overheat; verify this by positioning a fan between the CPU socket and the motherboard's top, ensuring the graphics power unit is present. The components between the CPU socket and the IO shield (including connectors) supply the processor cores. Another probable cause is faulty memory modules—test them using a bootable USB drive with MemTest, running the checks until they pass all tests. Still, if you're uncertain about replacing your motherboard... are you dealing with those three models? The 3200G model doesn’t require a complex VRM; its cores draw only about 40-50 watts, easily covered by any VRM with three to four phases, and the resulting heat would be minimal, making heatsinks unnecessary. The GPU also uses roughly 20-30 watts, which fits within the capacity of most VRMs with a single or two phases. All three boards linked lack heatsinks on the graphics power unit, which is not essential. The first model also lacks a VRM for the integrated graphics, making it a poor choice if you plan to upgrade to a CPU with more than six cores. The second board includes a small heatsink for the CPU, supporting up to eight-core processors, though it’s modest. The third offers a slightly better heatsink for the CPU but still supports up to eight cores. Twelve-core chips would function on the second board, but it would become very hot and might fail within a couple of years without additional cooling. Similar to the Asus Prime B450M-A, but includes a simple heatsink for the CPU VRM. Only two memory slots are available, which isn't a big deal nowadays. Not worth the investment, don't recommend.

Sure, a solid option in that range is the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14. It offers great performance and value for around $90-100.

Could you share some links to stores in your area? That way I can suggest some motherboard options and recommend models that offer good value. The Asrock B450M Pro4 is a solid budget pick at around 85 dollars. It includes heatsinks for both the CPU and video VRMs, offering decent VRM performance (three-phase doubling gives a 6-phase setup for the CPU), making it capable of handling even high-end processors with eight cores. The IO shield has a nice mix of connectors—VGA, DVI, HDMI, USB 10Gbps, and a Type-C port—plus ample spacing in the PCI-E slots. The B450M Pro4-F is almost identical, with only minor differences on the IO shield and a missing USB 10Gbps port; it also has separate PS/2 mouse and keyboard connectors.

The Asrock B450M Pro4 and ProF models aren't available in the Philippines, and I'm not sure why. The top online shops there are Lazada and Shopee.
