You're exploring alternatives to Windows 7, considering dual booting OS X. Games function well on Windows 8, though some users report performance concerns and bugs. It might be wise to wait for Windows 9 if you're prioritizing stability.

I really enjoy Windows 8. I don’t use those outdated squares; it runs smoother and faster than Windows 7. You can install the classic version and boot directly to the desktop. It feels like a quicker version of Windows 7 at that time.

Windows 8 runs smoothly with no problems. You can still enjoy Windows 7, and I use the Metro app for Netflix and news.

I have 7 and have used 8 extensively, I see no reason to switch. But if you really want to then it will be faster than 7 and you can grab a start bar like classic start.

Windows 8? Windows 8.1? Possibly, but if they’re offering Windows nine to seven users, that’s a total no-go. FUCKING hell no.

I run version 8.1, it's reliable and everything functions smoothly. Drivers are working well and old games run fine. You might need minor adjustments to achieve a feel similar to w7, such as using start8/startisback/classicshell and configuring apps to avoid the modern interface.

It's excellent. However, remember that Windows 9 is on the horizon. If you're open to receiving Windows 8 at no cost or a reduced price, and you're willing to explore it, then it's a good idea. Make sure your Windows 8 is completely updated with the 8.1 Update 1 first, to ensure you enjoy the optimal experience.
