I'm considering the ASUS ROG Strix B550F for $178 USD. It's my first time with a Strix product, though they're considered premium. The listing shows it matches my setup—5600X, 2x8GB Trident Z RGB 3600MHz CL18. Is it a solid choice?

They offer the best value overall. Unless you want to push them to higher speeds, I’d recommend the MSI B550-A Pro instead.

It might be worth pushing the performance further based on cooling efficiency, and since I plan to use it for several years, durability is key—likely 4 to 5 years minimum.

You don't need to worry about chipset durability (the motherboard is already old), aren't running a Ryzen 7 or 9, and you're okay with PCIe 3.0. B450 boards still work just fine.

However, this implies OP must either possess a 3000 series chip or lower, submit an AMD boot kit application, locate a board featuring a CPU-less BIOS flash capability, or visit a physical store in hopes of having BIOS flashing available. It seems not worth the effort.

typical motherboards lack CPU-free BIOS, which isn't a major issue except for very old models. He's also using it with a 5600 series processor.
