Avoid releasing a 1600 with a 1700, it merely adds two cores that operate almost identically. If your board can handle it (some 300 series boards aren't upgradeable), go for the 3600. The 3700X is only worth it if you plan to overclock or want to run other programs while gaming. You don’t require 8 cores for gaming right now, and the recent 65% price increase doesn’t seem reasonable. Regarding cooling, you won’t need an AIO unless you’re pushing the Ryzen 3000 to its limits. If budget matters, consider a Wraith Prism from eBay—the standard cooler with 105 watt TDP chips works well for its price. For better performance, the Be Quite Shadow Rock 2 is a solid choice (I prefer it for its low noise level).
