Hey there! I've been thinking about switching from a 5600x to a 5800x3d lately since it's on sale. The main problem I'm facing is stuttering in several games. My main goal is to play Hogwarts Legacy, but even at 60fps I experience noticeable interruptions around key areas like Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. Recent releases seem poorly optimized for PC, so I'm curious if upgrading will help push through some ports and possibly fix those occasional low frames. I'm still running at native 1080p on a 165hz display and pushing high settings whenever possible. Here are my specs: CPU – 5600x (overclocked to 4.7ghz), GPU – RTX 3070 ti, RAM – 16GB 3200MHz, OS – Windows 11.

Lower clocks to stock and check if it helps. Static overclocks aren’t ideal for quiet processors. If you decide to upgrade, expect VRAM problems with the 3070ti’s 8GB. Better go for a 6800xt and trade in the 3070ti, though the CPU might still be a factor. It’s hard to say for sure. Also, your RAM is likely insufficient—32GB is usually recommended for that game.

Thanks for the update! It seems the stock clocks didn’t make much difference. From what I understand, it’s probably not a VRAM problem since I’m not reaching 6GB even with high settings. I plan to upgrade the RAM first—it’s the simplest and most affordable choice—and then move on from there.
