I own an i7-6700k and my motherboard is failing (only 6 USB ports left and the optical port stopped working). I bought this CPU when it was released, so I've been using it for a few years. I wasn't planning to upgrade until the next generation of GPUs arrived, but now I feel it's time. I'm considering a Ryzen 9 3900X upgrade, though it's a huge jump. I'm unsure if now is the best moment to buy. My main goals are improving my case and CPU. I'm also seeking a quality motherboard that can support up to 250W and is ready for the next-gen components.
