of course its not (or is it?) that's what i want to find out, i need some hard facts as to why and how a 20-30% faster cpu is supposed be *slower* lol... and pbo2 might just fix it also in case its throttling (which i think is possible, and even likely, after all)
Sorry for the delayed response. I'm currently on vacation and my rig is at work, though I can still get shots of r23 when I return on Monday. The new windows install keeps causing problems—I repasted the aio but temperatures keep rising. Hwinfo doesn't mention thermal throttling; once it hits 81°C, the core frequency drops. A lian li Galaghad 360 temps are still in the mid-80s at 79°C on a dark rock pro. Gaming works fine, but after Effects and Premiere both slow down significantly, with all cores dropping to 3.1GHz sometimes. I’m puzzled—could it be a power delivery issue? With these high temps (now idling at 65°C), I’m really confused.
Update on my build: The R23 multi-core setup is performing well, staying under 10kW and maintaining temps around 90.6c at 1700T. I swapped the deepcool 240mm for a Corsair H150i LCD Elite (bought during Black Friday). Also replaced the Thermaltake 700 with an EVGA Supernova 1000GT—again saved big on Black Friday. The R23 multi-core now hits 14,500W, and single-core temps stay below 83°C. Under load they sit between 45-48°C, which is impressive. The PC case temperature stayed at 60-70°C when idle, and now it's 45-48°C. Even with the stock 8000 rating, I’m seeing better stability. A 700W PSU worked fine before; I calculated around 699W needed without fans and the RGB card. My Elgato 4K card hasn’t been tested yet, but I think it’ll run smoother with these specs. The DeepColl Matrix50 doesn’t fully support the AIO, so I’m planning a case upgrade in January (they’re back-ordered). I’m leaning toward the H510Y70 touch.
