For gaming, a Core i5-10400/10600 is suggested, or you could opt for a Ryzen 5600X. A 10th Gen i5 remains the most cost-effective option, typically around $50 less than Ryzen 3600 and comparable to B450 boards in price.

Consider getting an i9 9900 for great price. It offers excellent value right now.

It seems like a balanced exchange is likely. You could achieve improved performance on multiple cores with the 3600, though that's less critical in games. In the end, it probably isn't worth the price of the CPU and motherboard.

In reality, the only strong option for improving performance in that price range seems to be the i5-11400F, though even that would need a platform update for a noticeable gain. There doesn’t appear to be a compelling reason to upgrade right now. I’d keep the savings for now.

Thanks for your assistance. Comparing the i5-10600K to the Ryzen 5 5600X is straightforward. Memory speed plays a significant role, especially for tasks that rely on RAM performance.
