I've been considering a full overhaul of my components, especially since I'm on the AM5 platform. My current setup includes: motherboard - Asus ROG B550-F WIFI II CPU, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X GPU, AMD Radeon 6900XT, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32Gb DDR4 3600Mhz RAM, Corsair RM750e SSD, and Western Digital Sn770 1Tb. I'm thinking of swapping everything to something like: motherboard - Asus ROG B650, CPU - WIFI CPU, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X/7 7800X3D, GPU - Asus Tuf RX 7800XT OC edition, RAM - Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400, PSU - Corsair RM750e SSD, and Western Digital Sn770 1Tb. The CPU change is due to the fact that I don’t need many extra cores for a gaming rig; it’s not running at full capacity often, and the 7600X offers better performance and more features. I’m updating the GPU because it’s not an original model—it’s a test card from AMD—which sometimes struggles with high frequencies (max 500Mhz) and requires manual tuning, leading to crashes. It also heats up significantly, staying around 80°C during intense games like Battlefield 2042 at 2300Mhz. As for the 7800X3D, the price is a concern, but I’m playing games at 1440p with 144Hz, so it’s worth considering. The titles I enjoy include Battlefield 2042, Need For Speed Heat R6, Siege, Dead Space, and F1 22.
Bro you've got such a good system there already, why waste money on anything right now? You paid good money for your system as is, get your money's worth out of it. I'm still using a 3900X which is already a good bit slower than your Zen 3 counterpart, and it's still getting the job done fine. As long as your PC does what you want it to, why worry about the new things? Don't get caught up in the FOMO, IMO.
