Hello there. I'm trying to decide between two CPU options for my build. One is the Ryzen 3 3100 and the other is the Ryzen 5 2600. I think the R3 should suffice, but many sources suggest having at least six cores for a solid gaming experience and possibly more after a year. I'm also considering the R5 3600 because of price differences in Germany. My current setup includes a motherboard, GPU, RAM, storage, and power supply. Let me know what you think!

I currently have a 2600 paired with an RX 480 8GB, and I’m enjoying ultra 1080p at 55+ frames per second with very stable results. I’m considering moving up to a 3600 on the used side, but honestly, the benefits aren’t significant enough for me right now. My 2600 setup with a mild overclock runs smoothly without any issues.
I plan to use it mainly for gaming, especially older titles, though not the latest releases. For example, I intend to play League of Legends, Genshin Impact, GTA 5 (FIVEm), Dying Light, Rise of the Tomb Rider, and Shadow of the Tomb Rider. It should handle those games well, even on my GPU. Additionally, I need it to support Blue Protocol, run in the background with Discord, open Chrome, and other background apps as needed.
Suggest using a 2600/2600x model if you locate one on the used market for about 100 euros. Alternatively, opt for the 3600 if it's available near the 3100, combining the benefits of both options. For gaming setups with Discord and Chrome, the additional two cores will likely provide a noticeable improvement.
