Consider the R5 as a slightly pricier option (+15 USD). It uses less power, which might suit your needs better if you're focused on editing software rather than gaming.
It's 3,000, but patience pays. Zen 3 will arrive soon next year.
Discussing motherboards, prices vary widely depending on the platform and chipset. For an AMD B550, options range across different boards, while Intel H410/B460 models also offer diverse choices. You might prefer the 3600 for its better base speeds.
Your budget is the amount you have available for this project.
In my setup the R5 is worth +15 USD. My 150GB M.2 is broken and I can't locate a replacement, so I need a functional PC. Intel 1200 series, Asus TUF gaming B460M Plus around 108 USD, Gigabyte B460M Aorus Pro about 108 USD, AMD Asrock B450M Steel Legend roughly 91 USD, and Asrock B550M Steel Legend near 164 USD. I can manage any of those options.
As mentioned, I mainly rely on Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel.
At the conclusion the cost of the 3600 is likely to stay consistent. It may also show slightly improved performance. Are you restricted to these boards? The B450 Pro 4 tends to be more affordable and usually more budget-friendly than the steel legend with 3 SM4337 and 3 SM4336 chips. That seems like an overpriced option given alternatives like the A Pro Max that offer comparable VRM and cost less. Prices can vary by location, so feel free to adjust your search accordingly.
