Ubisoft recently released AC3, and many suggest starting with Assassin's Creed 2 before moving on. Since the game is quite old, you might want to consider whether purchasing it makes sense. If you choose AC2, would it be wise to also get Brotherhood and Revelations, playing them first? As for the first title, some think it’s repetitive, so you may skip it. For a quick overview of the story, I can provide a short summary to help you catch up.
AC1 wasn't too enjoyable to go through, while AC2 and Brotherhood were really great. Revelations felt a bit flat since it just repeats what came before in 2 and Brotherhood but in another setting. I definitely want to try those first. Hopefully you'll manage to finish 3—it's as boring for me as it is for me.
I recently revisited AC2 and truly enjoyed every moment. The game has held up well over time, and I find the quests and missions engaging, particularly the climbing sections. Absolutely, without any hesitation.
I remain upset that those key sections were removed as DLC. Still, the original trilogy was quite an impressive part.
