Recently one of my RAM modules failed (had a power surge), now I’m left with just one stick running an APU. I’m unsure what to do—should I purchase another stick to match, or should I save for a new 2x8GB package? I’ve heard that buying two separate sticks of RAM might cause compatibility problems if they aren’t the same model... Also, I have a 5600XT arriving soon, so maybe I should wait until then since it won’t need dedicated RAM.

It’s likely there’s a lifetime warranty available, though the probability of it being granted isn’t very strong unless you meet specific conditions. As long as you try your best, it should work out. Just send in the return authorization if needed.

Process the RAM replacement now, but clarify your query. It might not always be certain, though it usually succeeds if specifications match.

No need for a return or replacement at this time... I fixed the issue by cleaning the RAM with compressed air. The memory diagnostic came back clean—no errors detected. Likely just some dust or a tiny insect inside.
