ARK remains in beta with limited optimization, resulting in reduced performance. On a 980 Ti system it runs around 24 fps at 1080p with the Epic setting, consuming about 5.7 GB of VRAM.

Only restrictions on mods are being applied online. You're allowed full freedom to play however you like in singleplayer.

I see, you're running on Epic at 980ti and getting around 35-40 fps. Do you have the reference model info? Also, rust is exciting because it's early access—each update resets servers, so there might be delays before new releases. Are you comfortable with that?
