I've been noticing I haven't been using Windows 8.1 lately. I'm still on Windows 7, and I've seriously thought about moving to 8.1 completely. It wasn't a huge fan of it either, but I used to like it. I'm considering the switch because I'm getting bored with 7. What version are you running now? Should I go ahead? Also, do you have a Start Menu in the 7 style yet? I thought Microsoft announced it, but apparently they didn't... EDIT: Yay my first Poll!

Running on Windows 8.1 Pro with Display Fusion installed works great for me. Since I don’t use Windows 7 heavily, the older features aren’t a big issue.

Absolutely switch it out—it's incredibly quicker. I keep using StartisBack though.

I'm on version 7 and will change when 9 appears. 8 isn't good, so don't switch yet.

No, Microsoft did not release an official start menu.

Wait for nine minutes, they should probably address the issue.

Install Windows 8.1 enterprise. The "classic start" download will get you started.

It seems like you're comparing something to "7," but it doesn't match. The phrase "start is back" suggests a positive twist, though the details are unclear. Let me know if you'd like to clarify!

Currently, I have a limited number of programs installed, making the upgrade seem simpler now. (Will the Windows update during installation? I recall having problems with some apps during previous updates?)

You can get a moving GIF as your desktop background on Windows 8.1. If you're open to upgrading for free, it's definitely worth considering.
