You have an HP Omen PC that’s overheating and noisy. You’ve tried a cooler but the case is too small for the Noctua NH-U12s, and you can’t return it because it was bought a few months ago. Deciding whether to sell the whole unit or break it down is important. Selling together might fetch a higher price, while disassembling could let you get more from individual parts. The best approach depends on condition and market demand. If you’re unsure, consider taking photos, checking online listings, and comparing prices for similar models.

AMD and Intel are both planning another generation on the same platform. Intel has consistently released two generations per chipset, making it unlikely they’d alter this approach now. Both companies are likely to introduce new boards that support DDR5. Stability concerns remain, such as Zen 2 CPUs not hitting advertised speeds right after launch. Once resolved, stability issues with Zen 2 appear rare, though isolated cases still occur across brands.

price might go either way. I think sticking with the 9700 makes sense since performance jumps only about 15% from it to the 10700k. Get a cooler case that suits the 9700 and upgrade the GPU to save money. Make sure you have a solid enough PSU. Check your RAM speed and see if you can use two sticks instead of one, ensuring they’re in dual-channel mode. If not, or if RAM is slow, consider upgrading based on your motherboard’s support for XMP profiling.

stability problems arise from frequent bios updates, many of which fail, forcing users to troubleshoot their systems regularly. while amd has made significant progress, the issue persists. I still notice several board partners releasing stability patches for amd cpus every 4-6 weeks, and clients keep reaching out when their machines won’t boot after a bios update. additionally, ram compatibility remains a concern, though it’s becoming less common now but still occurs occasionally. I build roughly 10-15 computers weekly, and about one in ten have ram compatibility issues with amd hardware.
