The only real improvement over the i5 9600 comes from a Core i9 9900(K)(F). It offers two additional cores and supports HyperThreading, effectively doubling the processing threads compared to the i5. Yet for gaming and handling multiple tasks, this chip feels more like a mid-range option today. The Ryzen 5 7600(X) or Core i5 13600K provide significantly better performance, particularly in games. Expect to spend around $500 or opt for a used 9900k for about $275–$300 if you’re looking for a minor boost. However, upgrading to a high-end CPU might limit the performance of your 2060.
