I got a bit distracted during the Winter Sale and now have a bunch of games waiting. I just finished Redout and want to pick another one from my collection. The question is: where should I begin? Thanks!

I don't really enjoy modding, I like the standard version.

Sure, even basic visual tweaks add value. From my experience playing Skyrim with and without mods, I know mods really boost the gameplay, especially features like Frostfall.

Sure, but... then you're enjoying a Bethesda title, and that's just unpleasant.

Never experienced a Bethesda title (DOOM isn't really part of it, right?) so I'm uncertain about the outcome. If mods are added, they'd mainly focus on visual improvements without altering gameplay significantly.

Bethesda developers seem to have a reputation for not addressing game-breaking issues promptly, even after years of existence. Similar to Skyrim, players often rely on mods to resolve problems like the follower bow bug. This bug causes followers to equip hidden inventory items that generate unnecessary damage over time, disrupting gameplay. Other examples include the giant strike moon launch and raining mammoths. For Bethesda titles, the standard version is often flawed, so selective mods that closely match vanilla are recommended—avoid drastic changes like swapping dragons for Thomas the Steam Engine.

I avoid adding community patch mods since Bethesda issues often make the game more enjoyable
