There aren't any remaining issues. I really enjoy Windows 10. Added note: the forum also includes a built-in poll option.
I’d hold off a bit, though it’s just my opinion. If Vulkan gains traction, I might skip the upgrade path. (DX12 is what matters most to me)
Sure, let's keep it concise.
Next year is better—right now it's still early.
I’m set up with both Windows 7 and 10, and I appreciate each one differently. For me, Windows 10 stands out because of its seamless MS account integration and improved native driver support. DX12 compatibility and future-proofing are also appealing. The File Explorer now includes the 'up one folder' option, returning to a more user-friendly interface instead of relying on My Computer. Task Manager in Windows 10 offers richer details compared to Windows 7. I don’t like missing updates or Microsoft’s invasive tracking practices—especially their monitoring of personal files and reporting suspicious activity. The default start menu and task bar design bother me, as well as the overall flat UI aesthetic. For me, a customizable start menu replacement is key to enjoying Windows 10.
I still favor Windows 7 for its straightforward start menu and comfortable visual style, plus its better support for older games. Its future potential is promising, but I’m weighing practical needs against long-term benefits.
Upgrading isn’t always straightforward. Windows 10 might be available only temporarily, which could lock in a license that technically counts as Windows 10, protecting you for several years and possibly saving money. However, Microsoft’s recent behavior raises concerns about their commitment to customers. Their push for updates, changes to update settings, and telemetry practices seem intrusive. Even if they block some features, it’s hard to fully escape their influence.
Ultimately, I’m unsure if the advantages of Windows 10 outweigh its drawbacks. What matters most is what feels right for your daily tasks—whether you prefer clean corners or smooth curves, and whether you value privacy and control over your data.
Wait until the threshold reaches 2 this month; all issues will be resolved. Don’t upgrade to 10240 just yet—it’s still quite unstable.
