hello everyone i recently purchased a gaming pc around three years ago and i'm unsure about upgrading or getting a new one. my current setup includes an i7 6700k processor, rx480 graphics card, 8gb ram, and a gigabyte b150 motherboard. i feel the system is underpowered and i'm considering a new board. i found some options online that seem promising for better performance and higher clock speeds.

On a limited budget, you can achieve double the performance for the same investment with AMD. (Though the 2x claim could be overstated, it does have some validity.)

I think the GPU is the issue more than the CPU. It’s probable that replacing them all will be necessary.

Choose older components instead of new ones. For the Z270, eBay is a better option; otherwise you might be scammed. RAM prices are very high. You can find a DDR4 3000 for around $50 online. It's a solid GPU option.
