consider whether it's beneficial to overclock an amd fx 9590
I'm considering purchasing a new gaming PC and would like to pre-overclock the processor.
It's an AMD FX 9590.

Thanks!

This CPU is meant for dedicated users, not casual buyers. It has a 220 Watt TDP and needs top-tier liquid cooling solutions. I wouldn't suggest it unless you're a tech enthusiast eager to monitor and adjust CPU and monitor temperatures closely.
The 8xxx line from AMD is essentially the same chip but with lower heat output and power consumption. They are also more affordable. Iād suggest the 8320, as it retains 16MB Cache and when overclocked delivers comparable performance despite its higher price compared to similar models.
FrankenDesign has a solid argument, and Zen is expected this year. Although AMD typically maintains backward compatibility in their sockets, it's uncertain if this generation will follow suit.
