I’m looking at your setup and planning the changes. Upgrading your S5-1414 to an i7-3770 with 8 GB RAM is feasible, but you’ll need a compatible CPU socket and ensure your power supply can handle the increased load. Switching from 200W to 300W should work if your current PSU supports it, though verify the rating. After the upgrade, your performance in TF2 and Minecraft will depend on the new specs—expect improved frame rates once the system is stable.

The HP prebuilt comes with a unique case and a PSU of its own, so consider upgrading the PSU only if you intend to modify the case—otherwise, it might be worth building a more capable system with a Ryzen 3 3100 or similar. For graphics, stick with 75W cards that use the PCIe slot (1050ti, 1650). You can easily add two 4GB DDR3 dimms and replace them. A 3770 upgrade isn’t likely due to your Sandy Bridge CPU; Ivy Bridge support needs a BIOS update, and even then manufacturers may skip newer CPU microcodes. I wouldn’t invest in prebuilt SB/IVB models.

Check the site for compatible CPUs. Upgrading is being considered because I want to gain more experience with computers, avoid buying a new PC, and I need a 1050 Ti 3770 with 8 GB RAM to achieve good FPS in Minecraft while meeting my school’s DirectX12 requirements.

You're facing performance challenges with Minecraft on Windows 10 due to limited RAM. Increasing your memory to 8GB should resolve the issue. If your power supply isn't sufficient, consider moving the setup outside the case and using cables behind it. However, be cautious—disconnecting all cables first is essential to avoid damage.

Consider upgrading if your system needs more performance for current tasks.

It's outdated and very slow. It looked terrible when it first launched... Was it about 12 years ago? Please consider donating to a cause you actually support instead of this old machine. You deserve a modern PC!

Everything can be handled because bios modding is available. Just edit the microcode, as UEFI systems typically rely on AMI tools like mmtool v4 or 5 to add microcode for Ivy Bridge. You’ll likely find useful guidance on forums such as My Digital Life. Xeon E3 1230 v2 might be a better choice since it’s usually more affordable now—previous deals were good, and newer options like the 12100f are solid low-end alternatives. There’s little point in using prebuilt solutions when you can save money and avoid upgrade limitations, especially with older CPUs that struggle due to slow boost clocks and outdated architecture.

A 1030 could work depending on the context. The 26$ GT 730 seems reasonable for its price point if you're considering value or budget options.
