I currently am running a Ryzen 7 3700x and there's a good deal on Amazon currently for a Ryzen 7 5800x, I am not worried about any issues with my GPU or PSU upgrading. I mostly do some gaming with occasional streaming, and I'm just looking for some quick advice whether this upgrade would be worth it. https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-5800X-1...C95&sr=1-2 Thanks!
That's a solid offer, but if you don't intend to upgrade your setup in five years or more, you might want to think about it.
It's not the ideal moment yet, maybe hold off until another generation of CPUs arrives. You might want to consider Ryzen 6xxx or Alder Lake models; when those come out, older CPU prices like the 5800X often drop. However, since AM4 is likely being phased out on next-gen Ryzen, if your motherboard already supports the 5800X and you don’t plan to upgrade soon, it might be better to wait for a lower price.
Offers stronger single-core speed, which benefits gaming, though it may not justify the price increase even with a discount. I upgraded from 3700X to 5900X, but it’s a bigger change than needed for your use case.
Everyone, I believe I should hold off until the next Gen Ryzen arrives. Thanks for the guidance!
