You have a 64GB DDR5 RAM that’s already installed, and you’re considering swapping it out for more. Since your current setup uses DDR4 and you plan to move to DDR5, upgrading to four sticks per case would be ideal. Given your gaming and editing needs, a solid upgrade path would be to go with four DDR5 sticks in a single case. This will boost performance without overcomplicating your system.

Varies by system and number of DIMMs. Some boards remain unreliable when using over 2 DIMMs at maximum performance settings.

My motherboard is the X670-P Crosshair, just in case I didn’t say it has four sticks of 16.

The only options available on that board with 128 GB (4x32) are from Kingston @ 5200 MHz CL40. This isn’t the best match for your processor’s speed and latency needs. It might function, but it hasn’t been verified. The main concern is whether you can even benefit from the additional memory.

Processor specs: 7950X3D. Still unsure, but planning for long-term use. Apple, sorry about the X670E!

I mainly play games and occasionally edit using Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and sometimes recover data.

I’d probably keep that 64G kit because 128 would be unnecessary after a few years. Upgrading RAM later could make it more affordable, saving costs when you really need it. Personally, I’m okay with 32G just for my perspective.

It’s not suitable because it exceeds the recommended specifications for your system.

The vendor has it available, but when it's unavailable they're out of stock, and if they don't restock it, I have to find an alternative.
