It was a letdown when Amazon pulled my order for the G.Skill Trident Z Neo. After waiting too long and no longer having it in stock, they cancelled it. Now I’m weighing two choices: the Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x16GB or the Crucial Ballistix 2x16GB. Both have pricing details and discounts available. I also found a HyperX Predator 2x8GB at a lower price with shipping costs, but I’m still looking for the best fit. Thanks for your help!

No, I'm not using all 16GB of memory.

Mostly yes, it's mainly Watch Dogs Legion where I occasionally experience some stuttering due to reaching the 16GB limit. Running VMs is also common, so having 32GB of RAM would be really helpful.

It seems the extra expense for CL16 over CL18 isn't justified. The guideline suggests using a CAS Latency around one in every 2000 cycles of the clock speed. For 3600MHz, CL18 meets that requirement, while CL16 offers only marginal improvement—likely not worth the £50+ premium.

Thanks for the response, I'll choose the Corsair. The price difference was tighter a few days back, but with this prime day, the cost was the lowest it's been for the Corsair set for a while. Plus, the £17 off voucher makes it even more attractive. I also saved money since the G.Skill kit I had was £165.

The price gap is quite significant, so I don't think cl16 is a good value. See if you can locate a 3600 cl16 kit at a comparable cost to the cl18 one. If not, it probably isn't worth the investment. If 3200 cl16 is even more affordable, it's likely they'll switch to a 3600 cl18 model—it's essentially the same category. Still, it's not guaranteed 100%—around 95% should work. Otherwise, you can still appreciate your 32GB RAM and enjoy the experience regardless of the misconceptions about 16GB being sufficient.

Yeah, thanks haha, I'm sure I will, 16GB was enough before I upgraded from my 2500K to Ryzen 5 3600, but now I'm getting close to the limit and will give me plenty more years till I need more lol I've checked PCPartPicker and the cheapest I could get that was CL16 was some OLOy WarHawk RGB and that is probably the worst looking RAM I've ever seen lol, everything else was similar to the Crucial kit I linked and didn't have RGB which I barely pay attention to now, but I dunno, I just gotta have it anyway
