It's currently available for $300. Just got a few new units. I've been looking for this for a long time. The credit card is ready—let me know if you're interested!

Among all non-ram storage options, this device offers the greatest 4k sequential read performance. However, speeds for regular reads are limited by PCIe 3.0 technology.

With solid-state drives for large storage, this would be designated as a massive boot disk.

Are you sure you need it? The cost of 1.5tb seems quite high at $300.

Desire, not necessity—craving improvement! If it speeds things up a bit and sharpens the performance, it’s worth considering… though it’s still a costly upgrade, especially since it’s on sale. Lmfao

Could that amount cover something more valuable than just slightly quicker startup? Are there other expenses you should consider skipping just to have the funds for this? Are there items you're planning to save for that you're currently neglecting? I'm all in if you're willing to spend it for what you want, without any other strong justification. (I'm sitting right next to a mostly idle AMD EPYC server.) But if investing in a hobby means putting off important tasks, you might want to rethink.

You can purchase 2 990 Pro 2tbs units, store them in raid0, significantly boost performance, and add about 2.5 terabytes of extra storage. You've already decided on your plan.

It felt like spending $2,200 on something new—it's as if adding some unobtanium sparkle to your project.

I considered checking SSDs on a PCIe card. These cards cost a lot and sometimes need PCIe splitting on the motherboard. That looks likely for the next major upgrade.

You're spending some money right now while waiting to save up for a complete project at the end of the year.
