I've seen that the 4790k is just sufficient for the 1080ti, and in certain games it could even cause a bottleneck. Should I still try to overclock or stick with the stock settings? I'm using a 1440p 144hz gsync display.

I'm not sure if I'm a bottleneck, but definitely overclocking makes sense. Why not?
