I've been dealing with an internal decision about an upgrade that focuses on certain games and tools. With around $800, I'm mainly using VR headsets like Vive/Chat, full-body setups, and a few wireless options (Beat Saber, Pistol Whip). For productivity tasks such as Unity, Blender, coding, website design, and streaming, I need something that balances performance across all these areas without breaking the bank.

Currently, these details seem sufficient, though my performance still lags after all the work I've put in. My setup includes a 5930k processor, 32GB Corsair LX2133MHz RAM, a recently upgraded 2080Ti hybrid, a 1200W Corsair power supply, and an ASUS Deluxe 3.1 UX99 motherboard.

I checked some options and found that a 4790k outperforms my CPU now @Slottr

Your 5930 remains functional, it seems your issues aren't tied to the software.

Certainly, reinstalling all drivers and resetting windows is a good start. Rebuilding the app in Rust shows 70 frames for your 2080ti, which looks high on CPU, while VR renders only 11-15 frames even with decent settings and populated rooms. Adjusting these parameters might help improve performance.

Engineer in space has slight pauses too, mostly in a couple of titles where my processor slows while the graphics handle well.

I think the IPC and core clock your CPU supports aren't ideal for what I'm doing after reaching 4.2GHz across all cores.

The 5930K at 4.2 works perfectly. The 5960X at 4.4 and the 2080S also function smoothly. It seems many titles could benefit from the additional two cores, so performance should be comparable.

It seems your CPU might be struggling due to very slow RAM, or the games could be demanding it too much. Checking performance metrics would help clarify which is causing the issue.
