Based on the information provided, it seems worthwhile to consider an upgrade before the end of the return period. The R5 5600’s CPU is functioning well, but the upcoming deadline might be a good time to enhance its performance. Your current setup includes a 5800X3D that you’re eyeing, priced at £290. Upgrading could improve your gaming experience, especially if you plan to run higher settings or more demanding titles. Make sure your PSU can support both the CPU and GPU, as power requirements may increase. Your current specs look solid, so a refresh could be beneficial.

Your device should remain in use if the processor is functioning properly. Companies often face pressure to increase costs when many customers misuse return rules.

To achieve the 5800X3D you’d definitely go for it. If you were to get a 3070, you’d probably need a higher wattage PSU, which would save you money and avoid unnecessary costs—there’s no point in spending more if you won’t see any performance gains.

It varies, but if ESO follows typical trends for its class, an R5 5600 sets a strict ceiling. Upgrading isn't guaranteed to be beneficial. Are these titles meeting your expectations on the R5 5600? If not, then it's worth considering. I haven't evaluated how well a 5800x3D performs with heavily modified games, but if ESO is a big part of your sessions, it could make a difference. My brother uses a hammy downed 5800x3D with an RTX 3070 at 1440p UW, so I understand the performance trends well. He mainly plays multiplayer games, where 3D v-cache really shines.

So save it (and the money) until I get a 40XX or 50XX series GPU down the line? I've had an itchy trigger finger with PC Upgrades recently and CPU/PSU is in my sights when thinking rationally and realistically I don't need either

I could consider replacing the PSU because the current costs aren’t extremely high (though in the UK they’re less favorable than in the US), but practically it’s not necessary right now.

You maintain consistent performance around 170FPS with high settings and upscaling, while modded titles drop to 60-80FPS. This suggests your VRAM (8GB) is handling the workload well for most games. If you mainly play MMOs, a dedicated GPU might not be necessary anymore.

Uncertain if this qualifies as a reason to return.

Consider other options beyond AWD-IT. Check other sellers on Amazon for better deals or more reliable brands.

It's not. I just noticed the return window date, and the devil on my shoulder shared some nice stories about gaming success lol
