Upgrading for $600 USD, compare AM5 and a 4070 Super. Your specs are: Ryzen 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti, 2x 8GB RAM, 1440p at 165hz. Decide which option suits your needs better.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Since you have the RTX3060Ti, the upgrade wouldn't be worthwhile with the RTX4070 Super. In fact you should be fine as is...though what does the rest of your specs look like?
Please list the specs to your current build like so:
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

The system seems to miss the required performance, especially in certain titles. You might notice delays in specific games.

From the power supply perspective, it seems likely to upgrade to a better graphics card soon, along with an increase in RAM to at least 32GB.
In my own view, I’d hold onto the AM5 until after the 9000 releases, when performance improves and prices drop for 7xx models.
Bet you can find a good deal on a 14th generation Intel chip... 😉

At 1440p resolution I’d definitely consider upgrading the GPU. The 3060ti’s 8GB VRAM buffer is turning into a problem for that display size, and the 12GB buffer on the 4070 super isn’t ideal either. A 7900gre offers similar performance but with 16GB and about $50 less. Use that $50 to buy a 32GB RAM package.

CPU model is Ryzen 5600X, paired with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 v2 cooler. The motherboard is an Asrock b550m pro4. RAM includes two 8gb modules at 3200 MHz. Storage consists of a 2tb NVMe SSD. The GPU is an RTX 3060 Ti. Power supply is a 550w unit, housed in a BitFenix Novamesh Se chassis. Operating system runs Windows 11. The monitor is a Samsung 1440p 165hz Odyssey G.

What kinds of games do you enjoy playing? Generally, upgrading to a more powerful GPU could improve your FPS, but it wouldn't be wise to install a higher-end graphics card without a suitable power supply. Would you like to know the precise specifications of the PSU in your PC?

The next significant improvement would come from the 7900GRE.

For the CPU, perhaps the 5700X3D is a better choice.
But I wouldn't invest in a low-quality 550W PSU.

A fresh PSU should be installed first before any other upgrades.
