I own a B450 motherboard, so flashing the BIOS isn’t the main concern—I just wanted advice on whether it’s time for an upgrade or to wait. Your CPU is currently limiting your GPU performance in most games, and the newer models seem better suited to avoid that bottleneck. Should I go ahead with the 3300X upgrade or consider a 6-core Ryzen 5?
Hi, it seems the 4000 series CPUs might not work with the B450 motherboards. It's strange since only the X570 and upcoming B550 boards seem to fit. AMD claims this is because the motherboard chips can't handle the data from the new CPUs. I'd suggest going with a 3300X or, if you can spare the budget, a 3600 would be even better.
Check if the BIOS can be flashed; if not, it may indicate a hardware compatibility problem.
