After four years of use, you're thinking about swapping your Ryzen 5 3600. You want to stick with the same motherboard and might need to change the RAM or GPU. Your budget is under $400, you have a 750W power supply, and you're running a 7900 GRE graphics card. Gaming is your main focus right now, especially with Elden Ring DLC. You're open to used parts but also consider buying new if needed. Looking for recommendations on suitable AM4 CPUs within your price range?

5700x3d could be a solid choice if you're looking for a 5900xt or a refurbished 5950x, though the price matters. For gaming purposes, a 5700x3d is likely the optimal option.

Are you asking if the 5700x3d represents a notable improvement compared to the 3600? The 3D cache is known for enhancing performance, though the exact advantages depend on your use case.

You just need to view a comparison video and check the maximum FPS, minor drops, etc. The hardware box will clarify everything. However, when it comes to gaming... X3D CPUs are the best choice.
