I currently own an Intel Core i3 9100F that functions fine for most games, but it struggles with newer or more demanding titles. With a solid GPU and an ASUS TUF GTX1650, I’ve been considering moving to a Core i5. I need something compatible with an LGA1151 socket and would appreciate a cooler recommendation—preferably one that pairs well with the stock cooler from my i3. Since I already have five fans in my ATX case, adding more fans isn’t possible.

What kind of motherboard are you thinking about? You could definitely fit a 9900K there and get going. The 1650 Super isn't doing much anymore, but it pairs well with an i3. Upgrading the CPU would really highlight just how powerful it is. Edit: I noticed you didn't mention the i5 earlier. A 9600k would have been a solid choice for a while, though it doesn't have hyperthreading.

The top I5 compatible with your motherboard is a 9600k processor. It works well for most games, though the lack of hyperthreading is its biggest issue. You might be able to locate a refurbished i5-10400f paired with a motherboard for less than $200, so if you can manage that budget, check eBay or FB marketplace. For cooling upgrades, a Hyper 212 Evo would easily suffice for gaming needs.

I've been using an i5-9600K for a while now. It's a solid CPU for gaming and fits the LGA1151 socket nicely. It should work well with your GPU depending on your case layout. If you have limited space, a 120mm or 140mm radiator would likely be the best choice for cooling. Airflow tends to be weaker in micro ATX or ITX builds, so water cooling could offer better performance.

It looks like a 240mm radiator could fit either at the top or front of your case, which would help maintain optimal temperatures.

Consider using two of your top or front fans for better airflow and cooling performance.

It depends on the fans you own. Low-speed fans aren't ideal for radiators. You should choose one built for high RPM or high pressure to maximize airflow through the fins.

Opt for a stronger processor instead of the 240mm AIO. Upgrade your motherboard and consider a 10th or 11th generation Intel CPU.
