Consider upgrading to a more powerful CPU. Your current setup is solid, but the Intel i7 8700K paired with an RTX 4070 Ti could benefit from a newer processor for better performance and efficiency. Europe offers competitive options, and AMD Ryzen 7 9700X or Intel Core Ultra 7 265K might be worth exploring if you're open to alternatives. Avoid the AMD X3 series unless you have a specific need.

Do you have a budget in mind? If you can manage the Ryzen 9700X, it would be my choice. Of course, you'll also need a motherboard and DDR5 RAM. To go with a 9700X and a 4070ti, I suggest a B650 motherboard (offering solid features for the cost) and 32GB of DDR5 RAM in a 16x2 setup. You might want to get a new CPU cooler if yours isn't AM5 compatible. Use https://pcpartpicker.com/ and adjust the country settings to your location. This site helps you compare prices among different sellers.

Thanks for the suggestion to use PCPartPicker. I hadn’t considered doing that before. I’m likely to purchase the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X. I’m planning to install an X870 motherboard with PCI-E Gen 5 support, which will help me stay ahead for future GPU upgrades in a few years. I’ve also selected 64GB of RAM, as more recent games recommend 32GB, and since I rarely upgrade my system, I prefer having extra capacity. Here’s the link to my current PCPartPicker list with the motherboard and RAM: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nKXLFZ. Could you confirm if my RAM and CPU match what’s available? The GPU and CPU cooler are already listed, mainly to gauge their power needs.

I tried a 13600k and saw big gains with my 2080ti back then, but my 4070ti is more than sufficient for gaming CPUs even with an older DDR4 setup.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, I believe Intel's 13th and 14th generation CPUs consume too much energy. My current DDR4 RAM operates at 2400 MHz.

I’d choose the 9700X instead of paying for the X3D. My 7700X worked great and impressed me a lot.

I selected this upgrade for its newer features, even though it isn’t the best price. Choosing it means avoiding future part replacements for several years.

The only issue is your motherboard. It shouldn’t be that costly relative to the CPU, but it makes a solid upgrade either way.
