Comparing the Ryzen 3 3300X and 3100, it depends on your needs. The 3300X offers better performance and efficiency, making it a good choice if you want more power for multitasking or gaming. If budget is tight, the 3100 still provides solid performance at a lower cost. Consider what tasks you'll use the PC for most to decide.

It seems you're considering the 3300X based on budget and compatibility. Could you share your intended build and purpose for using it?

The Ryzen 3300x offers advantages over the 3100 mainly due to its single CCX design. While dual CCX models provide higher speeds, the simpler layout of the 3300x delivers solid performance. In the United States, the 3300x is currently unavailable at all retailers, making the 3100 a more affordable option if you can wait. For those willing to pay a bit more, a Ryzen 5 2600/3600 offers superior capabilities with six cores and twelve threads. If the 3300x becomes available locally, it remains a strong alternative to the 3100.

Budget build for MFS2020. Something affordable that can run it smoothly with Med-High settings. I have a basic idea, but I'm still working through it. (You mentioned being in Australia if that matters, heard the 3300x is sold out in the US). Here’s the parts list I compiled:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 3.6 GHz Quad-Core $158.38
- Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX Micro ATX AM4 $109.00
- RAM: Western Digital Green 240 GB M.2-2280 $39.00
- SSD: Western Digital AV-GP 500 GB 3.5" 5400RPM $43.99
- Graphics: Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 8 GB $269.00
- Case: PC Byte DIYPC ATX Mid Tower $48.40
- Power Supply: Cooler Master Elite V3 500 W $82.50

Prices are in AUD. Total comes to about $750.27. All costs include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts.

The situation isn't great. The price of the PSU is low, but the quality is poor. If you buy it used, you can get a decent 580. Your storage options are also lacking.
