Hello, I'm checking if upgrading from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro is a good idea. Are there any known issues with hardware? I've heard some reports about temporary problems when adding new hardware. Also, what happens to my product key if I activate Windows? Would that make it a genuine version and prevent any wasted activation? Thanks ahead!

I don't prefer Windows 10 Pro because it had many issues. I downgraded then.

Attempt it now—feel free to go back anytime within a month if needed (upgrade option available instead of a full reset)

Windows 10 is decent but raises privacy concerns—search them online. I went back after Lcast15’s advice. If it doesn’t suit you, you can revert within a month since you didn’t do a clean install. No bugs were found, though I had to re-download some drivers.

Drivers. Odd things happen with my mouse when it can't turn the computer off in sleep mode. The weirdness (not a glitch, but it seems awful)

I recommend waiting a month or two before upgrading most of the issues.

You can perform a clean installation using Windows 10, and there is an option to revert if needed.
