Hi everyone, my name is Juan from Uruguay. I've been watching tutorials for a while but haven't joined the forum even though I was directed several times. I'm a software developer, mostly working with mobile apps (Android and React Native) and sometimes Java or Grails for backend tasks. My setup includes a 6700k on an Asus Z170-A with 16GB DDR4-2400 RAM and a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD since early 2016. Recently, I've been thinking about upgrading because my PC isn’t the most powerful, but I can afford it since it’s a good investment for my work. I’m considering the 3950x processor—it reminds me of X-Plane, Minecraft, or Kerbal Space Program, not AAA games. I don’t usually play developers’ benchmarks (maybe because there are so many tools), but I think Gradle would benefit from more cores right now, as it’s currently using about 90% during a build. I’m curious—are there more software developers here? Have you tried Ryzen 3 generations? Would an upgrade make sense? Thanks in advance!

Here are some specific initiatives you employ. I explored your approach with the guidance you provided—Java, Grails, Gable. It seems performance gains might be limited since most tools don’t fully utilize current cores or threads. I’m still trying to clarify this, but based on what I found, it appears similar solutions exist.

Thanks for the feedback! It looks like Maven isn't performing well in my experience, especially when running on multiple cores. Gradle has improved in that area, but I still question whether it would be a significant upgrade for my workflow. Since npm and yarn are commonly used to compile Android React Native projects, I might need to explore other options to make the case for moving forward. Appreciate the insights!
