I just assembled my first computer and everything is working well. However, the BIOS version is F2 and there are updates labeled F3H and F3. According to the documentation, the latest BIOS updates improve security, but I’ve heard warnings about updating BIOS incorrectly potentially damaging the system. I’m unsure how to proceed safely, especially since I haven’t installed any drivers or updated Windows yet. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z390, with an I9-9000K CPU, a Gigabyte Nvidia 2070 GPU, and 16GB of RAM. It’s a legacy BIOS, not UEFI, and I need to change it without reinstalling the operating system.

No, that's not the case. It's an outdated device and a newer operating system won't solve anything. The security details are unclear. Just take it for what it is.
