Many Amazon reviews mention the injector isn’t included. Would choosing the Lite version be a better option? Can the EdgeRouter handle that? I believe getting a separate dongle or cloud config would be frustrating. I’m feeling really confused now. I thought I only needed those three items, but I’m not sure anymore. My Amazon shopping list looks a bit unclear at the moment.

The AC Lite includes a POE injector in the box, which also applies to the Pro model if you purchase the retail version. The Lite should cover your needs well.

The Lite can draw power from the router, which functions because they'll be connected together. The PoE wiring isn't much different from a standard 5A/5B cable. On SCAN, the prices look lower—Modem £77, AP-LITE £74, Router £50—but it's unusual since SCAN has become a popular choice for networking gear. Still, it might not be worth it considering the poor service I've received before.

I purchase from that place, but I used to work there when I was young, and some friends still work there. For me, I generally choose scanning.

Due to several disappointing support interactions involving faulty equipment, I faced issues such as being misled and pressured into payments for each email related to returns. Eventually, they provided a damaged replacement without the necessary accessories. Additionally, the graphics card failed after a short period, and since it was no longer available, only half of its value was refunded. After two years, Amazon processed a full refund, but I remain uncertain about regaining confidence in shopping there despite the free shipping per Hexus membership.

My background will shape my approach since I’ve handled situations there before and can physically reach the store if necessary. Not all perspectives will be positive, particularly when dealing with the returns team.

Yeah, unless I can get a guarantee that any items that are faulty I can actually return without issue, it's not worth the trouble to save a few quid As much as I dislike Amazon's employment ethics, at least I won't be out hundreds of quid if there's a problem. I know companies can change, but till I can see for myself they have, I won't risk it. Which is a shame as I'm building a new system soon.

Keep waiting until your return is processed, then you might realize you never receive the instant refund you expected.

I've encountered only a few issues, mostly with marketplace sellers, so I try to steer clear when possible. Overall, my Amazon support has been solid—they even return faulty items because of my disability. About two-thirds of my returns with SCAN have left me frustrated and costing money. Still, I'm looking for better deals; OCUK offers AP-Lite for £74, but it's currently out of stock and adds £9 to the shipping cost. I've checked all the retailers I know about.

I purchased the Edgerouter X and AP-Lite from SCAN. I'm planning further research on modems, noting that chipset issues with the Vigor 130 may affect syncs with both ECI and Huawei cabs. Initially thought it was Broadcom, but it's actually Infineon. Right now I'm checking for any Broadcom vDSL modems available. I might also explore ways to unlock a Huawei modem later to gather more line statistics.
