I successfully boosted my GTX 960 to these settings:
core voltage: 50 mV
Power limit: 108%
Core voltage: +115 mHz
Memory clock: +360 mHz
Fan speed: 80% (barely noticeable)
Max temp: 83°C
Do I need to stop overclocking when the computer is idle? I'm concerned that extra power usage might affect its long-term performance.
Thanks in advance!
The GPU performance decreases to 2D clocks during idle or low usage. You don't have to adjust anything unless you're playing games.
Gpu 's drop to 2d clocks when idling or used at low usage
You shouldn't need to do anything to make by his happen , your overclock settings should only come into play when gaming.
