As crazy and impossible as this sounds I'm currently planning to make a monster of a computer soon, some people on here know about it since I've talked about it before. But tell me your thoughts on how my planning is.
Here is the
CASE
for starters
The lower half of the case will house my Studio XPS board and a MicroATX eMachines board, the eMachines PSU will probably sit next to the board on the inside.
The upper half will house a custom VIA brand board and of course the optical / floppy drives, I will leave the bottom optical drive bay open for some fans.
The XPS PSU will be mounted where the OEM one would have gone, and the VIA PSU will be mounted above the other, after I have cut a hole for it to fit.
The top two fans will be wired to the VIA board and will be exhaust fans, the front optical drive fans from earlier will be wired to an wall outlet and set to intake.
The front lower intake fans will be wired to the XPS board and I might cut a hole in the side panel on top and bottom for side intake fans.
The power switches for the VIA and eMachines boards will be routed to the closest opening near them and the XPS board will use the integrated power switch.
Here's the hard part, this case has no MB tray so I'll have to fabricate my own which will be very fun.
I also will have to get a lot of wire extensions for this to work, I should also get fan splitters so I don't have to wire each fan individually to a USB connector.
If I can make this better let me know, I'll also be back with updates on it.
Should have mentioned that I'll be using this system for both modern and retro gaming, and software and hardware testing.

"Triple system, monster computer, etc.."
Very likely that no matter how you start out things will change and you will be revising "on the fly".
Perfectly okay if you can afford the time, the expense, and otherwise handle setbacks and issues.
And just want to do the project for experimental purposes and the sake of learning.
As I see it there is "no way" to make it better per se.
"No plan survives initial contact". (Not an exact quote as there are variations attributable to others - full disclosure.)

That said:
After reading "The top two fans will be wired to the VIA board and will be exhaust fans, the front optical drive fans from earlier will be

My underline.
Nothing in a PC should be wired directly to a wall outlet. That will end badly.
All power into a PC should be via the host PSU.

Yes.
Initially connected via a USB block before being linked to a power source.

Right now, the "case" is merely a metal box with an old-school front design.
Create and construct any necessary mounting components.
Do you have a 3D printer?

Sadly, I don't think so. I would have to do everything by hand.
My suggestion would work well if companies produced full-height cases as they did before.

Purchase two Phanteks Luxe 2 models and customize them together.
