I had a moderate experience with their software. However, if it works with DDWRT, I’d feel confident about it.

After four days of dealing with DIR 882, I’ll be sending it back to the supplier. USB and printer sharing aren’t functioning properly. After numerous emails to Dlink support, they only replied after two days, and the solution provided didn’t work. There were firmware issues that kept locking me in and forcing repeated logins. Now I see why this brand isn’t popular. Tomorrow I’ll return it again. This is really frustrating! I’m starting to look for a different router. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Adjust your expectations for this price range. For example, the most affordable UniFi AP is a 2x2 MIMO and it would cost roughly what you'd pay for a router, switch, AP, and NAS together...
