Setting up a new system for two years, now it’s going to a friend’s. What motherboard fits well with a Ryzen 7 3800X and an 2080 Super? Need some suggestions! Also, case options would be helpful—thanks!

I'm curious about your friend's budget. For a price of 3800, I suggest going with 570 if it fits their needs, as it should work with upcoming processors. But could you clarify what your budget actually is?

Currently, I’m certain about having an MSI 2080 Super, a Ryzen 7 3800X, and 32 GB of RAM. I also use a lot of 1080p competitive gaming, enjoy solo 4K titles, and do video/photo editing.

B450 offers sufficient performance for a 3800x setup, but I suggest using an x570 board for better future compatibility and improved power handling.

x570 or b550 (unless future upgrades matter, a powerful b450 works just fine...)
