Hello friends, it's been a long time since I assembled a PC and back then we didn't worry about bandwidth or lane issues. Now, I'm buying a Z590-e Strix with an I7 11700KF and a 3080 TI. I also have two WD Black WDS100T1X0E SSDs, each with 1TB capacity and a read speed of 7000MB/s. According to the manual, the best setup would be using two M2 slots for the SSDs in M2.1 and M2.2, taking advantage of PCI4.0 features with the 11th-gen CPU. I haven't listed the RAM yet because it's sold out, but I'm planning 32GB (16x2) at 3600MHz. I also want another storage option, and to be honest, it's not even an SSD. I have two HDDs that are essential for my work: a WD Purple 6TB and a Samsung 3TB. The question is: if I'm gaming, will performance drop when I don't use the HDDs? Will having them around affect my system like a cheesy cheddar that lingers on your face for weeks?

They don’t impact performance unless you use only the top M.2 slot, which is Gen 4; the other drive will operate at Gen 3 speeds, but that’s unlikely to matter in this case.
